About us

The Institute of Culture and Russian Language is a cultural institution established in Rome in 1991, which continues the tradition started in 1946 by the Italy-Russia Association, which places the knowledge of Russian language and culture at the center of its activity through Russian language courses, study stays and cultural trips in the most important cities of the Russian Federation and in some countries of the CIS.

The Institute is a center of excellence for teaching the Russian language, which includes among its students diplomats, journalists, professionals, business executives, who have established themselves in their respective work areas and have contributed in a concrete way to the development of cultural, artistic, economic and technical-scientific collaboration.

Due to the nature of its activity, the Institute is in permanent contact with the Embassies and Consulates of the Russian Federation and the new sovereign nations, which have joined the Commonwealth of Independent States in different forms for over thirty years. The director of the Institute of Culture and Russian Language is Prof. Carlo Fredduzzi, who specializes in Slavic Philology at the University of Leningrad, journalist and writer.
